Description: new, repeating ideas and texture effects based on a mosaic motif from the Alhambra palace, Grenada.
Welling up from the depths of the earth, a force cracking the earth’s crust, a volcano.
The quilting follows the contours of each fragment making up the mosaic’s geometric base, apart from the marble-print fabric, which has not been quilted.
Exhibited at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in 2004

Description: the rainbow theme gets a new twist on a four-directional mesh network depicting a mosaic from the Alhambra palace, Grenada.
A palette of shaded grey frees these textile fragments from the full chromatic spectrum
The quilting follows the contours of each fragment making up the mosaic’s geometric base, apart from the colourful silky textiles, which have not been quilted.

Based on the geometry of two mosaic quadrangles at the Alhambra in Grenada
Description: a carnival theme featuring masks and duality, bright colours contrasting harlequin clowns and a confetti-dotted sky.
The lacy edge follows the contours of the geometric base, affording a glimpse of the triple thickness and explaining the impression of floating.
